The Bruker D8 Advance X-ray diffractometer can be used for nearly all X-ray diffraction applications, such as structure research, phase analysis, and stress and texture measurements.  The core of the GADDS (General Area Detector Diffraction System) is the high performance (2D) detector.  The Bruker AXS HI-STAR area detector is a true photon counter in a large area.  The speed of data collection can be 104 times faster than that of a point detector and about 100 times faster than with a linear position-sensitive detector.  Ability to capture entire Debye ring offers new possibilities for stress measurement.
