Mark’s research interests are in the deformation structure and characterization of metals. Current work includes characterization of heat treated Ti555 for creation of TTT and CCT diagrams. This work was started while Mark spent a quarter at the Institute for Metals Research in Shenyang, China. He is also characterizing Al 5083 which has been through a severe plastic deformation process, Equal Channel Angular Extrusion (ECAE). Mark also has done work on creating a Cu/Nb thin film bi-phase diagram.
Mark Yavorsky graduated cum laude with a BS in Materials Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University in March 2006. This was the first step in a combined BS/MS program under the guidance of Dr. Hamish Fraser. He began working for the Fraser Group at OSU as an undergrad in 2004. He is currently finishing work on his Masters degree.
Mark is engaged to a beautiful girl and is busy avoiding wedding plans. He is an avid soccer fan and enjoys playing whenever possible. He also enjoys trying to lower his handicap out on the links.
