Topics to be covered:

1.  Al alloys
2.  Ni-based alloys

Because of the wide range of materials to be covered, there is no required book to be purchased.

A set of overheads is available as files on my web-page: http://www.mse.eng.ohio-state.edu/~fraser/) and references to the literature will be given. These files are used during the course by me, together with some other material provided in various forms of media during the course.

You will need to use a program to read a PDF file.

You can get Adobe Acrobat Reader by clicking the Adobe image below:
(This link should auto-detect if you have a PC or MAC)

There is also a freeware non-Adobe application for PC that will also open PDF files. It's called FoxIt and can be downloaded here: (Credit goes to your fellow classmate John Foltz; he introduced me to this program). Click the FoxIt logo to visit their webpage. Foxit is a Windows and Linux based program.

Also, remember that on a Mac, the Application Preview can read PDF's as well.

If for some reason you can't access the above PDF, please feel free to send me an email at gerhold.8@osu.edu. I am the webmaster for this site.
